Mission
The Directorate of Infrastructure and Equipment manages the Federal Police’s equipment and infrastructure.
| It is also responsible for establishing the standards relating to the police services’ infrastructure and equipment, included their uniforms, identification means and weapons, in collaboration with the Standing Committee of the Local Police.
Together with the Directorate of Logistical Support and the Directorate of Purchase, it provides logistical support to the Federal Police and, at their request, to the Federal and Local Police General Inspection, the Local Police and the Secretariat of the two-level structured integrated police. |

Scope of activities
The Directorate of Infrastructure and Equipment controls all aspects (purchase, budget, inventory, delivery and retirement from service) related to the basic equipment (uniforms), the individual equipment (general and specific equipment) as well as the collective equipment (vehicles, furniture, etc.).
The Directorate also manages the infrastructure lent to the Federal Police by the Buildings Agency, in centralised as well as in decentralised services.
It establishes and develops standards in regard to infrastructure and equipment (included those related to uniforms, identification means and weapons), applicable to all the integrated police.
Composition
The Directorate of Infrastructure and Equipment is made up of five specific services:
The Logistical Front Office
- The Logistical Front Office directly answers questions related to general logistics and meets the equipment (sale) and vehicle (rental) needs of the police zones.
- It is in charge of all aspects related to specific logistical communication; it also conceives and develops projects in this field.
- Its IT office is responsible, among other things, for managing the logistical database and providing training in this field.
The Property Management Service
- This service is in charge of all the Federal Police’s buildings.
- It also implements the whole process for ensuring the complete management of the collective and individual equipment (generally and specifically speaking).

- The individual equipment project provides the basic equipment to the Federal Police officers and, at their request, to the Local Police officers.
The Research & Development and Standards Service
- This service establishes, develops and applies the equipment standards applicable to all the integrated police.
The Budgetary Co-ordination Service
- This service co-ordinates and monitors the Federal Police’s budget and the procurement contract procedures.
