Missions
This directorate is in charge of the preparation of the statutes of the staff members, in consultation with the Standing Committee of the Local Police and the other two Directors-General.
Scope of activities
- The management and interpretation of the statute, in accordance with the ministerial circular GPI 17 of 13 March 2002.
- Providing legal advice with regard to police missions.
- Management of the litigations of Federal Police.
- Defending and representing the Minister of Home Affairs and the government in front of the Council of State and the Court of Arbitration for litigations concerning any dispute against the statute.
- Publishing laws, royal decrees, ministerial decrees, circulars and other texts with reference to the police in the Belgian Law Gazette.
