Directorate of General Reserve
Composition
The Directorate of General Reserve is composed of specific departments:
- The Cavalry department.
- The Protection department.
- The Special intervention department.
- The Detachment department.
Missions
- Specialised or ordinary operational support to maintenance of law and order missions of the Federal and Local Police on the whole national territory.
- Technical assistance in maintenance of law and order matters to coordinating directors and, on their request, to Local Police corps chiefs.
- Maintaining a permanent operational intervention reserve.
- Operational support to Federal or Local Police services (surveillance horse patrols, support for planned administrative or judicial police operations).
- Escort of transport of valuables, transport of dangerous prisoners and surveillance of Belgian embassies abroad.
- Performing the Royal Mounted Escort missions.
