Directorate of Relations with the Local Police
This directorate is, among others, composed of:
- A policing policy service.
- A financial management service.
- A service in charge of organisation and functioning standards.
- A communication and information exchange service.
The Directorate of Relations with the Local Police performs the following missions:
- Providing methodological support to the development and implementation of local policing policy concepts with a view to creating a quality Local Police function in line with the policy and focusing on community.
- Providing support to the development and implementation of the local financial management (budget, accounting, etc.) with a view to efficient policing policy and functioning and monitoring the financing of the police zones.
- Providing support to the development and implementation of the Belgian model of a quality police function focusing on community and based on the balance between a sociological and a problem-solving approach.
- Providing support to the development and implementation of the Belgian concept of optimal Local Police organisation and functioning, with a view to a quality police focusing on community.
- Developing and implementing project supervisor and policy co-operator networks with a view to encouraging the development of the organisation of the Local Police based on the concept of a police function focusing on community, the Local Police management cycle, optimal quality and financial management.
- Following up the morphology of the Local Police.
