Directorate of International Police Cooperation

This directorate is, among others, composed of:
- A policy and management service.
- A (bilateral and multilateral) Cooperation service.
- A European Cooperation service.
- A service in charge of the relations with international and European organisations, the representatives of Belgian police services abroad and the representatives of foreign police services in Belgium.

The Directorate of International Police Cooperation performs the following missions:
- Developing and managing bilateral and multilateral international Cooperation between the Belgian and foreign police services. To this end, the directorate maintains, develops, establishes and manages the necessary international contacts with the different States or groups of States.
- Developing and managing cooperation with the Belgian police services and the European Union, especially the European Police Service (EUROPOL). To this end, the directorate maintains, develops, establishes and manages the necessary international contacts with those services and agencies.
- Developing and managing cooperation between the Belgian police services and the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL), as well as any international organisation in charge of encouraging and supporting international cooperation.
- Organising and managing the representatives of the Belgian police services abroad, including the Belgian police representatives and the civilian crisis management abroad. To this end, the directorate is in charge of the logistic and administrative support of the Belgian representatives abroad and of the members of the integrated police who take part in peacekeeping missions.
