Travel information
The city of Spa is not in the centre of Belgium, but in the quiet southern part of the country, nearby Liège. It was once a meeting place for royals, around the casino and the “Spa” (ever wondered where this name came from ?). You will search in vain for a metro taking you from the airport to the hotel.
However, the hotel can be easily reached :
By car : The hotel is close (5 km) to the motorway E42 (exit 8). Parking at the hotel for free.
By plane and train : Brussels and Koln Airports are at a distance of about 130 km, we can advise you to take a train to « Liège Guillemins », one of Belgium’s main railway stations. Thalys and ICE high speed trains which will take you to Liège from Paris in 2h20, from Köln in 1h30 and from Frankfurt in 2h20. Regular trains need about 1h30 to arrive in Liège, coming from Brussels-Airport.
A regular train ticket from Brussels Airport to Liège Guillemins costs about 13 € in second and 20 € in first class.
We will arrange for a shuttle from Liège Guillemins to the hotel on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning and busses to Liège Guillemins and Brussels airport on Friday after lunch.
